Discussion Circle
The topic of our Discussion circle will be Faith, Women and Iran. The discussion will touch on the following themes:
Faith vs. Compulsion: Differentiating between personal practice and the "misconstrued" faith being forced upon people, and how that differs from Islam more broadly.
Geopolitics & Religion: Addressing common questions (both within and outside our community) about whether these actions are truly rooted in religion.
Personal Reflection: Ending with questions on how we, as women from various Muslim backgrounds, relate to faith and navigate our own visions of it versus what may be compelled by society. Our event will be led by Asheq Fazlullah, a Muslim interfaith advisor who will provide us with context about our topic at hand. It will be a discussion-heavy event, so we hope attendees come with an open mind and readiness to interact. We welcome students from across a variety of backgrounds to join, listen, and share!
Bryn Mawr College welcomes the full participation of all individuals in all aspects of campus life. Should you wish to request a disability-related accommodation for this event, please contact the event sponsor/coordinator. Requests should be made as early as possible.
