DMC: IES Abroad Math Major Internship
Join the De-Stressing Math Collective (DMC) for "IES Abroad Math Major Internship - How can quantitative tools aid in social science research?" The speaker will be Aleydis Barnes '27. Snacks will be served in the Math Lounge (Park 360) at 6:30 PM! Talk Abstract: In this talk, I will share details about interning at WU Vienna's FORM Research Institute in Austria, through Bryn Mawr's partnership with IES Abroad. There, I learned about migration and displacement studies, within developing contexts. We will introduce formulas and concepts related to survey administration and statistical significance, such as Response Rates, Cooperation Rates, and Chi-Squared Tests. Lastly, we'll talk about how to apply, and advice for the program! All are welcome, no specific mathematics knowledge is necessary.
