El Río is a feature-length documentary that illustrates the unique relationship between the indigenous people of the Peruvian Amazon, and their land and river. El Río contributes to intersecting fields of anthropology and environmental humanities for our understanding of the perspectives of indigenous cultures, their cosmogonies, and their intimate connection to water ecosystems under threat. It increases awareness of the importance of ecological knowledge and the emotional and spiritual effects of environmental resource depletion.
The documentary is in Spanish with English subtitles.
