An Evening with Peggy Reavey: From the Art Wife to the Art Life
Born and raised in Philadelphia, where she studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Peggy Reavey describes her paintings as a marriage of William Blake and Ann Landers.
This artist’s talk will focus on how Reavey found her voice and her style beyond the “David Lynch’s first wife” label. We will discuss her most recent work, “Girl Experiments”, as well as other paintings.
“My current paintings, Reavey writes, come out of a feeling I've had since I was a child that there is so much more to being a girl than is talked about or understood.”
Presented by the Film Studies Program and the Center for Visual Culture.
