Inauguration of the New QMSEC Laboratories
You are welcome to join us to celebrate the opening of the new laboratories for the Quantum Materials, Sensing, and Education Center (QMSEC) on Friday, October 23, in the Park 1st Floor Atrium.
Remarks will take place from 1:20–1:50 p.m., followed by tours of the new quantum laboratories.
Guests will have an opportunity to learn about and see two new quantum sensing capabilities:
-A $1.5 million NSF-funded scanning Nitrogen-Vacancy (NV) magnetometer, capable of imaging ultrasmall magnetic fields from 2 K to room temperature in Park 149
-A student-built quantum diamond microscope in Assistant Professor of Physics Don Fahey's lab in Park 234
Together, these facilities will open new possibilities for cutting-edge research, hands-on student training, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Come celebrate, tour the new laboratories, and experience quantum sensing at Bryn Mawr!
Bryn Mawr College welcomes the full participation of all individuals in all aspects of campus life. Should you wish to request a disability-related accommodation for this event, please contact the event sponsor/coordinator. Requests should be made as early as possible.
