Celebrate Earth Month by learning how to build sustainable websites and reduce the environmental impact of web content. This workshop covers the basics of critical web design and development and introduces Jekyll, a tool for generating static websites. Join us to learn about tools and practices you can use to reduce the environmental impact of your web content, build your own static blog site, and deploy it on GitHub Pages—no coding experience required!

The workshop will begin with a presentation on sustainable web design practices, followed by a guided walkthrough of the process of creating a website with Jekyll. The remaining portion of the workshop (about an hour) will be dedicated to working on the websites we create and answering any questions that come up. If you cannot stay for the full length of the workshop, you are welcome to come for just the beginning!
