Katie Koestner at Bryn Mawr
Author, Activist, and Educator Katie Koestner will share with the BMC Community her experiences with harm and healing related to sexual violence. Katie speaks honestly and thoughtfully. TW: SA, etc. This is the keynote event of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Katie Koestner has worked tirelessly to advocate for the rights of Survivors of Sexual Violence since her own experiences as a college student at William and Mary. She has appeared on the cover of TIME Magazine, The Oprah Winfrey Show, NBC Nightly News, CNBC Talk Live, CNN, Larry King Live, Good Morning America, Later Today, MSNBC, Entertainment Tonight, and other national television programs, as well as in her own HBO movie. As a lecturer and student advocate, Katie has visited thousands of schools and Universities globally, and has worked alongside the US Department of Education, as well as numerous other Organizations, to create meaningful legislation and guidelines in support of efforts to prevent and help survivors heal from Sexual Violence.
