Off Campus Event, Haverford College, Michael Jaharis Recital Hall

The Kessinger Family Fund for Asian Performing Arts presents Music and Conversation with Yoko Hiraoka, biwa. The Biwa is an ancient lute-like string instrument from Japan which has been used for centuries to recount stories from medieval times with themes of love, hardship, epic battles, and the evanescence of life. In the beautiful setting of the Michael Jaharis Recital Hall, Yoko Hiraoka performs, sings, and tells the stories that have been passed down through Japanese history; stories of famous warriors, heroic deeds, and passionate love.

This concert will be held at Haverford College in the new Jaharis Recital Hall and is free and open to the public. Please note that indoor masking is required.

The performance will also be presented via live stream.
