Public Observing Event: Journey to Winter Wonderland
Friends from this side of the galaxy, the Public Observing team invites you to attend our Journey to Winter Wonderland event on December 5th from 7-9 pm! Come learn about constellations and chilling facts/myths! We will host dome tours, telescope viewing (weather permitting), student-led talks, crafts and more! From gravity demos to ornament painting, there's something for everyone. We will be trying a new format, with science museum-style activities in the classroom, and ticketed entry for the telescope tours. As such, we ask that you be patient with our staff and volunteers as we try this new format, that will hopefully streamline and improve your visitor experience. Coming towards the latter half of the event (after 8pm) will improve your chance at a shorter line, as our events are usually busiest at the beginning. The activities and telescope dome tours run all night, so the only thing that changes with coming later versus earlier is which talk you may attend. To get to the observatory, turn right as you exit the bus, going back down the road towards the soccer field until you see our Observatory, the building with two big domes.
