On Campus Event - Old Library, Great Hall
A free concert of vocal Renaissance music in a great acoustic. This set of music is constructed around the framework of the Mass - we have selections from different eras ranging from Guillaume de Machaut (1360s) to Claudio Monteverdi (early 1600s) providing a contrasting juxtaposition of how composers reacted to these same standard texts over the centuries. Also includes music by Josquin, Byrd, Vecchi, Purcell, Morley, Croft, Richafort, and an old favorite: Anonymous.
