Well Week: Active Minds V-A-R Workshop

We will be offering a virtual Active Minds V-A-R (Validate-Appreciate-Refer) training. V-A-R is a helpful tool that can be used by BMC community members to help someone when they are distressed. The workshop will be facilitated by Sanyika Calloway, a published author, international speaker, skilled trainer, and engaging facilitator.
Know Your V-A-R
Three steps to show up for the people around us, one conversation at a time.
- Someone doesn't need to be in a crisis to seek help.
- You don't have to be an expert to provide support.
- Help can come in many different forms.
- Using the V-A-R tool can help you actively listen to someone and support them in a meaningful way.
The training is open to students, staff, and faculty.
