Assistant Dean of the Undergraduate College and Director of Academic Support Rachel Heiser received her bachelor's degree from James Madison University before she moved back to her roots in Pennsylvania to receive her master's degree in counseling psychology at Temple University.

She began work at Drexel University and served as a counselor, adviser, and assistant director for the Center for Academic Success. Now at Bryn Mawr College, she works closely with students, staff and faculty to assist students in reaching their personal definition of academic success and college life balance.

When she is not immersed in the Owl community, she enjoys seeing live music and theater, traveling, having outdoor adventures, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

Assistant Director of Academic Support Amanda Brown received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and her master's degree in marriage and family therapy from La Salle University. Additionally, she is certified as a coach and in providing hypnotherapy.

Prior to working at Bryn Mawr College, she provided school-based mental health support in several Pennsylvania school districts. In her role as Academic Support Services Coordinator at Bryn Mawr College, she helps students to develop the skills and habits that allow them to feel confident and successful at college and as people.

Outside of her work at Bryn Mawr, Amanda can be found experimenting in the kitchen with vegan recipes, reading lots of books, listening to music, watching movies, exploring her creative side through art and writing, and being a dog mom.

Hope McMahan (she/they) is the graduate assistant for the Office of Academic Support and a current GSSWSR student. They are a recent graduate of BMC after taking six years off from their undergraduate degree. They have personal experience with the reenrollment process, leave of absence, academic probation, and adjusting back to the rigorous academic environment at Bryn Mawr. Hope offers their own experiences and training as a social worker to provide a more systematic approach to aiding the success of students.

Academic Coaching appointments are suspended for summer 2024. We will resume meeting with students in Fall 2024.
