J-1 Exchange Program

The Pensby Center administers the J-1 exchange program for Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges. Working closely with the Provosts’ offices of Bryn Mawr and Haverford, we advance the values of faculty exchange by issuing DS-2019 documents for Exchange Visitors appointed as visiting professors, researcher associates, and scholars to obtain J-1 visas. 

Through individualized advising, we assist and support exchange visitors in maintaining compliance with federal regulations that govern the J-1 exchange program as mandated by the United States Department of State (DOS); and as such, the office monitors the SEVIS record and activities of visitors in J-1 status to achieve the College’s compliance obligations as a J-1 program sponsor.
