Biography

Jess Shollenberger teaches courses in twentieth-century and contemporary literature, queer theory, and affect studies. Shollenberger’s current research is focused on queer feminist modernism and minoritarian aesthetics. Their work attends to objects sidelined by queer theory’s resistance to “normalcy” including domesticity, identity, and the ordinary. Shollenberger has published writing in College LiteratureJacket2South Atlantic Review and elsewhere. Their first book, which examines ordinary queerness in modernist literature, is under contract with Ohio State University Press.
