Biography

Marcy Nyachogo is delighted to join the GSSWSR team as the Director of Student & Career Services. Holding a Master of Social Work from the University of Pennsylvania, Marcy is a licensed Social Worker in the State of Pennsylvania, most recently serving as the Director of the Bilingual Domestic Violence Program at Lutheran Settlement House in Philadelphia.

Her 10-year history of advocacy with survivors of domestic violence includes roles in both direct service and program administration, with a specialization in the medical setting. As a nonprofit leader, Marcy centered humor, transparency, and coalition-building in her approach. Marcy has also shared her expertise as an Adjunct Faculty Instructor at Harcum College and Widener University, mentoring and educating future social work professionals.

Fluent in Spanish and certified as a Domestic Violence Advocate in the State of Pennsylvania, Marcy has also contributed to the social work community through publications as well as conference presentations on topics such as trauma-informed evaluation and research with domestic violence survivors. Marcy is passionate about creating spaces that support people to thrive and is excited to work with the GSSWSR students, faculty, and community.
