Biography
Mary Beth (MB) Horvath is the Associate Dean of the First Year Experience. In this role, she is the first-year class dean, the advisor to all first-year students, and oversees the First-Year Experience, including Customs New Student Orientation and THRIVE. Previously, MB worked in Student Affairs at Virginia Commonwealth University and Cabrini College. She joined Bryn Mawr in 2002 and has has the opportunity to work with students in areas such as student engagement, traditions, new student orientation, student leadership, alcohol and other drug education, Title IX, crisis response, student support and transition, and academic advising.
MB completed her Doctorate in Higher Education at Widener University in 2011 where her research focused on role conflict and role ambiguity of undergraduate student paraprofessionals. Her previous education includes an M.S. in Higher Education from Syracuse University (2000), and a B.A. from Dickinson College (1998) where she majored in Music and Environmental Studies.
MB is an avid runner and kayaker and enjoys crocheting amigurumi.
