Our Mission
Bryn Mawr is dedicated to keeping the campus a secure and healthy place to live, work, and study. The mission of the Department of Campus Safety is to provide a caring, safe, and welcoming environment for the college community and to enhance the well-being of students, faculty, staff, and visitors, and to protect college property. The success of this mission depends upon a true partnership between Campus Safety personnel and the diverse population of the college community – a partnership built on mutual respect, trust, and responsibility that encourages a sense of communal concern for each other’s safety and well-being.
Our Focus
- Safety education and crime prevention programs
- Fire prevention and emergency response training
- Late-night student transportation/escort services (the "Lantern Van" or "Lantern Shuttle" service)
- Referrals to other campus resources
- Transporting students with medical crises
- Responding to campus emergencies or requests for assistance all day, every day
- Providing self-defense training to those interested
- Parking program management
- Tracking crime and providing transparency by making reports of campus incidents and crime statistics available
