Preschool Afternoon Teacher

Bryn Mawr College has an opening for a Preschool Afternoon Teacher in Phebe Anna Thorne School

THE POSITION

The Part time, early childhood assistant teacher, to work with our mixed age (3-5) afternoon class.  The mission of the Thorne School is to provide a play based, developmentally appropriate, child-centered program for young children.  This is a part-time position, and the hours are 12:45 pm to 3:15 pm, Monday – Friday for the school year September through early June and a two-hour staff meeting on Wednesday afternoons.

A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, Master’s preferred.  Applicant should have early childhood teaching experience and preference for certification by the state of Pennsylvania (or Private Academic Certificate).  Applicant must have up to date clearances (child abuse, criminal history, and FBI clearance).  Applicant must have the ability to articulate and to demonstrate a clear understanding of Thorne School’s developmental/play based as it applies to both curriculum and emotional growth.
