Institutional Repository and Open Access

LITS is hiring a Repository Specialist who will be responsible for coordinating the presentation of Bryn Mawr faculty, staff, and student publications in the Bryn Mawr College open access institutional repository. The job involves working directly with BMC authors (mostly faculty) to identify and categorize their scholarly output, and may involve corresponding with publishers. The Repository Specialist identifies new faculty publications, contacts faculty, and answers questions about the BMC open access policy. The Specialist will be responsible for maintaining records of correspondence, creating records and linking within the Repository system, determining the correct form of citations, and related tasks as needed. The Specialist will also help plan the annual new scholarship party/trustees’ reception held in April.

Requirements: Graduate student. The Repository Specialist will gain a thorough understanding of the role of academic publishing, familiarity with copyright, permissions, and issues surrounding open access; knowledge of Digital Commons software. All necessary training provided.

Questions about the position can be directed to Camilla MacKay (cmackay@brynmawr.edu) and/or the current Repository Specialist (Jenni Glaser). To apply, please send a letter describing your interest in the position and a cv to Camilla MacKay asap. Receiving applications until filled.
