We’ve made many changes in Workday since going live January 5, 2026. Your patience, constructive feedback, and generosity of spirit have enabled helpful dialogue and quick improvements. Here’s where to get the best help:

Workday Updates

Workday releases new features twice annually in March and September. As a part of the March 14 feature release, you will see a more prominent search and updates to the left navigation sidebar. Non-exempt and student employees will have new ways to enter time.

More updates to watch for this spring:

  • Reminders to submit and approve time – student employees and non-exempt staff will receive an email near the end of each pay period reminding them to submit their recorded time. Managers will receive a similar reminder of any submitted time, or time off requests, that they still need to review.
  • Enhanced budget reporting – we’ve already made several improvements to the Budget vs Actuals – Manager report that cost center managers use to report on their operating budgets. More reporting capability is on the way for grants, gifts, and rollovers (formerly “reserves”). Adaptive Planning, also a part of this summer’s Phase 1B, will provide robust tools for budget planning and forecasting.
  • Updated how-to guides – anything with a v2, v3, etc. denotes a significantly updated guide. Recent updates include Delegation, Expense Reports for Credit Cards and Reimbursements, Job Application, and Time Entry. Over the summer these guides will move into Workday Help, one of the modules we’re building out in Phase 1B, for easier access and updating.
  • Additional punchout catalogs – more will be added! In the meantime, please use a quote to place a non-catalog purchase order just as you would have in E-Market.
  • Guidance on the best ways to share costing and transfer funds
  • How-to guides for hiring all positions start-to-finish – from recruiting through onboarding
  • Using Workday for our next performance review cycle
