A concerted effort from the right to demonize progressive education, take over school boards, sanction educators and control curriculum swept the country. During the McCarthy era, a primary preliminary battleground was education. What is happening now in public education nationwide? Why is education under attack? Who is behind the attacks? Why should we all be concerned? What can we do about it? This presentation by the Zinn Education Project's #TeachTruth national campaign organizer, Debbie Wei, will lay out the groundwork for answering these questions.
