Photoshelter Usage Tips
Getting Started With Photoshelter
To support our community’s storytelling efforts, you can access and download a broad collection of photographs from across our college — thousands of high-resolution images captured in our new style. This royalty-free collection is available to all Bryn Mawr faculty and staff through Photoshelter, our digital asset management system, and is managed by the Office of Communications and Marketing. This guide will walk you through the basics of using the self-service system.
Tip: Our photo archive can be tricky to navigate from your mobile device or tablet. Using a desktop monitor will be your best experience.
Go to brynmawr.photoshelter.site
Tip: We recommend bookmarking brynmawr.photoshelter.site.2. Click "Log in" and select “Bryn Mawr Login”
- Enter your college credentials (the same username and password you use for other college systems)
- You're in! No separate password is needed.
Explore the Galleries
Once logged in, you'll immediately have access to the “Public” gallery, a collection of photographs available to the entire college.
- Browse by the folder structure in the left sidebar or use the top search bar to find specific images.
Tip: By default, the search bar searches for exact folder names, file names, and tags. The “visual search” toggle just to the left of the search bar turns on Photoshelter’s AI search function that “looks” at the content of an image and may return more images in a query. If you are using the AI search function, try describing what you want to see in the image, like “happy student with red sweatshirt.”
- Double-click any image to preview it in full size.
- Click "Download" to open the download options window.
- Choose your preferred file size or format.
Tip: Use the “Crop” button to crop your photo within Photoshelter.
- Save the file to your computer by pressing the “Download” button again.
