Support for Scholarship

The College promotes faculty scholarship through funds that directly support research activities. The College's most significant support for scholarship is provided through Professional Leaves and Sabbaticals. The program is for continuing members of the faculty.

he mentorship program is open to both Tenure-Track (TT) and Continuing Non-Tenure-Track (CNTT) faculty; it provides individualized guidance and support for faculty career development and, for tenure-track faculty, navigating the tenure process. Its purpose is to help faculty:

  • Increase productivity and effectiveness
  • Identify useful strategies, resources, and support
  • Review and strengthen professional materials
  • Better understand the specific steps and expectations of the tenure process
  • Have a confidential, supportive space to discuss questions or concerns

Research Funding and Support

Tri-College Faculty Forum Grants

Tri-College Faculty Forum Grants funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, were established to support initiatives and programs that foster collaborations between faculty at Bryn Mawr, Haverford and Swarthmore Colleges. These collaborations can be in the areas of research, pedagogy, governance or service, and work/life balance.  See the Mellon Tri-College Forum - Faculty Development Initiative website for more details.
