| Additional Course Info | Class Number: 2253 This course examines the political, intellectual, and social history of Genghis Khan, the Ilkhanid Mongols, and their successors in the Middle East and Central Asia from the thirteenth century to the sixteenth century CE. We will consider the formation of new political norms, changing trends in trade, and an increasingly hybrid cultural and artistic production that characterize this period. Approach: Writing Attentive; Enrollment cap 12. Priority enrollment for concentrators in MEST/MECANA. Prerequisite: a 100- or 200-level course in History of Art, History, or Middle Eastern Studies/MECANA. |
