Flexible Spending Account Open Enrollment

posted November 3, 2025

Open Enrollment for the Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) is happening now and goes through November 14, 2025. This is the annual period where you can make an election for a Medical FSA and/or a Dependent Care FSA. The plan year runs from January 1, 2026 through December 31, 2026. Additional information about FSAs can be found here.

If you would like to enroll in a Flexible Spending Account, you must take action by November 14, 2025. Pursuant to IRS regulations, changes outside of open enrollment are not permitted unless you experience a qualifying life event (e.g. marriage, birth of child, loss of coverage on spouse's plan, etc.). Keep in mind that the IRS limits the types of changes you can make for such events. If you experience a qualifying life event, contact HR as soon as possible and no later than 30 days from the event; otherwise, you will need to wait until the next Open Enrollment period to make changes.

What’s Changing:

The IRS limits for 2026 are changing:

Medical FSA annual limit: $3,400

Dependent Care FSA annual limit: $7,500

Our vendor for the flexible spending accounts is changing to Baker Tilly effective January 1, 2026.

For employees currently enrolled in the flexible spending account plans through Inspira, you will receive transition communication from Baker Tilly should you have a balance in your account at the end of the year. It is encouraged that you spend down your balance prior to December 31, 2025. However, if you have a balance remaining, there is a grace period that runs from January 1 through March 15. This will be administered through Baker Tilly.

Next Steps:

Enroll for the 2026 year using this link.

Reminder: If you are currently enrolled in an FSA plan, your election will NOT rollover. You need to make an active election for the 2026 year if you would like your enrollment to continue.
