COVID Testing Options for Employees
Bryn Mawr College employees, including faculty and staff, are encouraged to seek out the COVID testing options that best meet their needs. Below are notated recommendations from Bryn Mawr’s Office of Environmental Health and Safety.
Primary Care Doctor
- Cost: Insurance will usually cover for those who have symptoms or were exposed.
- Availability: Practices vary; some can arrange testing or direct patients to a facility within their network.
Urgent Care Facilities
(e.g., AFC, Vybe, Patient First, Tower Health, and ChesPenn Health Centers)
- Cost: Insurance will usually cover for those who have symptoms or were exposed.
- Availability: Same-day appointments are often available. It is best to call first.
Montgomery County Test Sites
- Cost: Free to anyone who lives or works in Montgomery County.
- Availability: An appointment is required, and they only make same-day appointments, which fill up quickly, so it is important to call or go on their website when they open at 8:30 a.m. to book an appointment. The county has four walk-up testing sites (the nearest one is on Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore).
Philadelphia Test Sites
- Cost: Free to anyone who lives or works in Philadelphia.
- Availability: Consult their website for more information.
Delaware County Test Sites
- Cost: Free to anyone who lives or works in Delaware County.

CVS Pharmacies

Rite-Aid Pharmacies

Note: The above sites typically offer PCR tests, which use a nasal swab and usually require 24 hours or more to report a test result. Employees may also purchase antigen rapid test kits, available at pharmacies, which can confirm the presence of COVID when symptoms are occurring but are not considered sensitive enough to reliably screen for the presence of COVID when someone has no symptoms.
