Bryn Mawr's Transnational Italian Studies Department will host Understanding Primo Levi Symposium In Honor of Nicholas Patruno about the famous writer, poet, and holocaust survivor Primo Levi. This event will be held in memory of Professor Emeritus Nicholas Patruno (1941-2020), a distinguished scholar of Primo Levi's work. 

The symposium will be held all day, and will comprise of talks from various scholars, including Professor and Chair of Italian on the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Chair in the Humanities Roberta Ricci and Assistant Professor of Italian Alessandro Giammei, and presentations from the students of ITAL 313: Primo Levi, The Writer. The event will conclude with a roundtable discussion in memory of Professor Patruno.

This symposium is presented by the Department of Transnational Italian Studies, and co-sponsored by the President's Office, the Provost's Office, and the Class of 1902 Lecture Fund.
