Black Alumnae/i Fund Committee

Established in 2008 at the Black Alumnae Conference and revitalized in 2020, the Black Alumnae/i Fund supports students who share a cultural background or personally identify with the African Diaspora in their personal and professional growth.

The Black Alumnae/i Fund committee directly supports the fundraising and stewardship of the Fund. Members of the committee will have the opportunity to hear from campus leaders with the goal of working together to sustain the Fund and support future generations of Black students. Through the committee, the College seeks to collect the insight of our alumnae/i; raise money for the Black Alumnae/i Fund; increase participation in the Fund from the BIPOC community; and strengthen the network of Black alumnae/i.

Responsibilities:

• Display commitment to the Black Alumnae/i Fund via meeting attendance and/or philanthropic support;
• Raise visibility of the Fund through your Bryn Mawr network;
• Champion transparency and stewardship of the Black Alumnae/i Fund; 
• Partner with Alumnae/i Relations and Development and the Career and Civic Engagement Center to amplify the Fund;
• Support Black/African Diaspora students via career mentorship and networking; and
• Reflect the College’s values of equity and inclusion.
