A comprehensive program for first-generation, limited-income, and undocumented+ students.

Breaking Barriers is led by the Assistant Dean of Support & Belonging. The group provides mentorship, programming, support services, and resources to first-generation, limited-income, and undocumented+ students (FGLI+).

 

Who We Support

Breaking Barriers - First Generation

FGLI Students

First-generation and limited-income students can find a community of peers and mentors who can provide guidance, support, and resources to help navigate the college experience. 

Breaking Barriers - Undocu+

Undocu+ Students

If you're a student who is undocumented, DACA, or TPS, Breaking Barriers can provide a safe space to discuss concerns, hopes, and dreams. Explore resources, scholarships & fellowships.

Joining the Community

Breaking Barriers Scholars may identify with one or more of the following experiences and are part of a larger community composed of peers, staff, and faculty at Bryn Mawr who share these experiences. All eligible incoming students are initially invited to the program; however, anyone may opt-in at any point throughout their time at Bryn Mawr.

To be eligible, students must identify with at least one of the following,

  • First-Generation
  • Limited-Income
  • Undocumented+/DACA
