Statement from Special Collections
The Special Collections Department at Bryn Mawr College is reconsidering the histories of colonialism and racism that have influenced the formation and presentation of our collections of historical, cultural, and artistic material.
Bethany Collins: A Tempest
Bethany Collins exhibits new works of art at the College this spring, including a recent addition to special collections. Performances of The Battle Hymn of the Republic: A Hymnal (2023) take place during the artist's residency on campus, March 16-21.
ARCH Project Research Internships Available
Bryn Mawr undergraduate students are invited to apply for two (2) research assistant positions working on the ARCH (Art Remediating College Histories) Project.
The ARCH Project Research Assistants will undertake extensive archival research to recover the names and, where possible, the stories of these staff members. These positions offer students the opportunity to learn how to do historical research with primary sources, to recover unrecognized stories, and to share their experience and findings broadly. Interns will develop digital and material archives skills, as well as a deep understanding of how histories are constructed.
