Study Abroad Events Calendar

Events will be held throughout the Spring semester to familiarize students with the process of studying abroad, from selecting a program, to completing your application to preparing to travel. While these are primarily geared towards sophomores in the sophomore planning process, all are welcome! Events will be posted as they are confirmed throughout the semester.

Summer Opportunities Fair: Global and Local
February 3 from 1:00-3:00pm
Campus Center

Juniors, sophomores, and first-years please join us at the Campus Center on Friday, February 3, between 1:00 – 3:00pm to learn more about Bryn Mawr-College programs for students in the Summer. This is an opportunity to chat with representatives from various Bryn Mawr sponsored programs and find out about fellowships and other funding opportunities, both local and global. Come find out what fits your needs whether you hope to study, conduct research, or are looking for an internship here in the U.S. or abroad If you already have other plans for 2023, stop by for hot chocolate and keep these opportunities in mind for the future!

Come join us for an informal Bi-Co chat with Abbey Fox of SIT, Haverford Director of Study Abroad Rebecca Avery, and BMC Director of Global Education Tracy Weber. Consider aspects of your identity as you explore study abroad options. Gain insight into how researching cultural norms and local practices can help you navigate how you may be perceived in and interact with your host country. Learn about studying abroad through SIT, with plenty of time for Q & A. All students are welcome!

Come join us for an informal chat with Lindsay Turlan of APA and BMC Director of Global Education Tracy Weber. Get tips on talking with your parents about studying abroad, from introducing the idea to engaging them in your planning to maintaining support and connection overseas. Learn about studying abroad in Paris through APA, with plenty of time for Q & A. All students are welcome!

Come join us to learn more about opportunities for students to study, conduct research and do internships abroad in the summer. Chat with representatives from Bryn Mawr sponsored programs, hear about fellowships and other funding opportunities and learn about the process of transferring credit earned from summer courses abroad.

Come join us for a chat with Peter Shapiro of DIS Study Abroad in Scandinavia, Haverford Director of Study Abroad Rebecca Avery, and BMC Director of Global Education Tracy Weber. Hear Peter's tips for planning ahead to take full advantage of your semester abroad, wherever you choose to study! Peter will also talk about the DIS Copenhagen an Stockholm programs and answer your questions.

AIT offers a semester-long study abroad program specifically for Computer Science majors.  All courses are in English at AIT's state-of-the-art campus in the heart of Budapest.

Come join us for a chat with Leiah Heckathorn of Bard Abroad. Hear Leiah's tips for how to make the most of language immersion opportunities while studying abroad. Leiah will also talk about the Bard Abroad program in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, and answer your questions. All are welcome!

Interested in spending time abroad, but unsure how to pay for it? Come meet Fellowships Advisor Ellie Stanford and Director of Global Education Tracy Weber, and learn about fellowships and other opportunities to fund overseas study during your time at Bryn Mawr, including summer opportunities. We will also be joined by Gilman Scholarship recipient Lila Sattler (class of 2023).
