Support for Scholarship

The College promotes faculty scholarship through funds that directly support research activities and through events that highlight the scholarly work of members of our community. Click on the links to the left, Funding Opportunities and Community of Scholars, to learn more.

The College's most significant support for scholarship is provided through Professional Leaves and Sabbaticals. The program is for continuing members of the faculty.

The Office of Sponsored Research serves members of the faculty in obtaining and administering grant support for research and other scholarly activity. Faculty are encouraged to submit a two- to three-sentence description of their scholarly interests to the Office of Sponsored Research who will conduct a broad search of available and applicable funding opportunities.

Although its primary function is to collaborate with senior administrators and faculty to develop proposals that advance institutional priorities, the Office of Institutional Grants also works with the Office of Sponsored Research to assist faculty members interested in applying to foundations or other non-government institutions for grants to support their research.
