Jan Linowitz (Ed.D., Harvard University) serves as the psychoeducational consultant to the toddler, preschool, and kindergarten programs. She observes in the classroom, consults with teachers, and attends staff meetings regularly. She is available to parents for private consultations about typical preschool issues such as separation anxiety. She also facilitates structured "playdates" in which children have the opportunity to play with a peer from their class. Leslie Rescorla, (Ph.D., Yale University), Professor of Psychology and Director of the Child Study Institute, is also the Director of the Thorne Early Child Programs and serves as a psychological consultant to all its programs. A licensed clinical psychologist and certified school psychologist, Dr. Rescorla is available to work at the Child Study Institute with Thorne families who request an early childhood evaluation or school admission evaluation for their child. She also can consult with parents and teachers about children's behavioral and emotional issues, see children for therapy, and collaborate with Thorne teachers to better meet the needs of children in their classrooms.
