Bryn Mawr has a strong and connected volunteer network all around the world.
Survey of Alumnae/i shows support for The Next Chapter and a desire to get more involved with the College
A recent survey of more than 4,500 alumnae/i and alumnae/i volunteers, including graduate school and young alumnae/i, showed broad alignment around the priorities of the College’s strategic direction, The Next Chapter. This feedback is invaluable as Bryn Mawr prepares to implement its five pillars over the next few years.
Of particular interest to respondents were those priorities directly tied to student success and access, with more than 90% of Mawrters rating “ensuring students acquire skills relevant for first jobs, graduate school, and fulfilling personal lives” as important or very important. Respondents also expressed high support for core academic priorities such as hiring more tenure-track faculty and “strengthening interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary academic options.”
If you didn’t have the opportunity to attend any of the events on campus and throughout the country in 2025-2026 where President Cadge presented The Next Chapter, you can learn more about how the College is moving forward at our Next Chapter website or at any number of upcoming Next Chapter events. Be on the lookout for an event near you.
The recent alumnae/i survey also included important questions about the alumnae/i network and Mawrters’ experiences as alumnae/i. 95% of respondents said the network shared pride in the College, and more than 80% appreciated its intergenerational and geographically far-reaching nature.
In response to alumnae/i who felt they were not informed as much as they would like about ways to volunteer for the College and the many respondents who expressed a desire to learn more, we are excited to get to work sharing how to get involved. To start, the Alumnae/i Relations and Development website is a great resource and highlights opportunities here. Next, we will be piloting new ways to learn how to volunteer for Bryn Mawr and the Alumnae/i Association throughout the fall. Stay tuned for more information. As always, you can reach out to bmcalum@brynmawr.edu to learn more about volunteering or connecting with your fellow alumnae/i. Thank you for the continuing and integral role you play in helping the College flourish.
Thank you for all of your volunteer work in support of Bryn Mawr! In celebration of National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 19-25, 2026, hear messages of appreciation from students.
