Student Employment With the Center

The Career & Civic Engagement Center employs students as program coordinators, office assistants, career peers, and van drivers. Students work individually, in pairs or on teams, both on- and off-campus on a variety of projects.  Some of examples of the work include coordinating the America Reads/Counts Tutoring program or VITA, or assisting students in finding and preparing for internships, interviews, job searches, and careers, or helping The Center staff plan, run, and market events.

Students can also participate in Community-Based Work Study, which gives them the opportunity to earn their financial aid awards through employment at off-campus community service agencies such as local non-profit organizations and schools.

With a strong commitment to student development, the Career & Civic Engagement Center works closely with student workers to create opportunities for learning and growth. Using a multi-faceted approach that involves direct supervision, trainings, workshops, reflection sessions, relevant conferences, and a peer network of support among fellow student workers, we create a vibrant learning community of staff and students.
