French Placement Exam Information

French

The exam consists of a personal fact sheet, an oral comprehension passage with questions and a reading section with multiple choice questions. 

Please note: The French Department asks all students planning to take French to review the information on Moodle and to fill out the personal fact sheet, even if you have never studied French before. 

French Essay: Students who are placed in French 005 or more advanced courses will be asked to submit a 400-word essay (as a Word document, dictionary permitted, no translators or other assistance permitted) on a topic indicated on the Moodle website to be completed by July 17. In addition, students placing into 005 or higher will have oral interviews over Zoom at the end of July-early August.
