Am I a Responsible Employee?

All Bryn Mawr employees (except for Confidential Resources*) are designated as “Responsible Employees” and therefore required to share a report of sexual misconduct with the Title IX Coordinator.

When Responsible Employees become aware of sexual misconduct involving a member of the College community, they have an obligation to promptly contact the College’s Title IX Coordinator and report what they know about an incident of sexual misconduct. This includes when the misconduct has been perpetrated against or by a third party.

The Bryn Mawr College Sexual Misconduct Policy governs the College's response to sexual misconduct, including, but not limited to Title IX sexual harassment and other gender-based misconduct, including sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and sexual exploitation. For purposes of this policy, sex or gender-based discrimination is considered sexual misconduct.

By reporting, Responsible Employees are not only ensuring that the College is able to properly respond, but more importantly, they are ensuring that the individual who may have experienced sexual misconduct is connected with those on campus trained to assist them, offer support, and address the safety of the individual and others within our College community.
