Susan Chaplick will be retiring at the end of this summer 2024.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude for Susan’s dedicated service and invaluable contributions to the program. She has touched the lives of many children, empowering them to reach their full potential.

In light of Susan’s retirement and after careful consideration with Bryn Mawr College, we have made the difficult decision to conclude the Early Intervention Program at the end of July 2024.

Phebe Anna Thorne will continue to support children with its other robust programs for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarteners. Thorne will continue to serve the needs of the speech/language community with our Language Enrichment Preschool Program (LEPP). The LEPP program is designed for children who often attend a traditional morning preschool, but with their identified speech and language needs benefit from the added experience of a language based afternoon curriculum to address and strengthen their receptive and expressive language abilities as well as support their social language, play and early literacy skills.
The focus of LEPP is on language and social skills, rather than on broader issues of self-regulation and behavior.

Phebe Anna Thorne looks forward to continuing to work with children in the community. Our role as a leader in early childhood education will continue.
