Classes with a high adult-to-child ratio are available for preschoolers, ages 3 through 6, for whom language delays, attention problems, social skills deficits, and difficulties with behavioral self-regulation preclude functioning in a traditional preschool setting.
Classes meet two or three times weekly for two hours, with the three-day afternoon class lasting an additional 15 minutes. Class sizes are limited to six children per class, and are taught by Susan Chaplick, M.S./C.C.C., a speech language pathologist, and two assistant teachers. Both three-day classes also have group occupational therapy once a week, led by a certified occupational therapist.
"Thorne school helped our children make friends, advocate for themselves, determine who they were, and the teachers always remained respectful of the different timelines that each child was on as they developed." —Susie Billson
