Visiting Assistant Professor of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies

The Department of Greek, Latin and Classical Studies at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2023. The teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will teach six classes, including a freshman writing seminar, courses in Latin, and courses in translation on ancient Roman (and/or Greek) civilization. We seek a broadly trained Latinist who will add to and complement the existing curriculum at all levels, from introductory to graduate seminars; the candidate may specialize in Latin of any period, but must be able to teach the core texts of Latin poetry. This position will include the possibility of renewal for one additional year pending a successful review of teaching evaluations and departmental staffing needs. A Ph.D. in hand by the start of the position is required.

To apply, please send a cover letter that addresses your teaching and research interests and experiences, curriculum vitae, sample syllabi (no more than three), and names and contact information (including email addresses) of three references via Interfolio at http://apply.interfolio.com/117333

Review of applications will begin on February 15, 2023 and continue until the position is filled.
