Visiting Assistant Professor of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies

The Department of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies at Bryn Mawr College invites applications for a full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor position to begin August 1, 2026, which may be renewed up to three years upon review of successful teaching evaluations. We seek a candidate who will be able to teach Greek and/or Latin at all levels, from elementary to graduate, and who will be able to expand rather than duplicate the department’s existing offerings in Classical Studies. The successful candidate’s research and teaching may focus on Greek or Latin literature and culture from any period, and they should also be able to facilitate collaboration with other departments and programs at the college (e.g., Africana Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, Comparative Literature, International Studies, Philosophy, Political Science, etc.). Candidates must have completed all Ph.D. requirements by the start date.

To apply for this position, candidates must submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a writing sample of not more than 10,000 words in length, and two sample syllabi for second-year Classical Studies courses. These should be submitted to the Department of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies Search Committee via Interfolio. In addition, candidates should arrange for three letters of recommendation to be submitted via Interfolio to the Department of Greek, Latin, and Classical Studies Search Committee. Applications received by March 23, 2026 will receive full consideration.
