Facilities Projects

The Facilities Services team manages a variety of projects across the College.

August 2025 Updates

Project Updates as of August 25, 2025

Description: Renovate space on the 2nd floor to provide additional office space.

Status: The renovations are scheduled to begin September 2nd with completion scheduled for mid-October.

Impacts: There will be some noise and construction activity within the building.

Description:  The passenger elevator will be modernized.  (This is the elevator that is currently out of service.)

Status:  The new equipment has been ordered.  On-site work is scheduled to begin in November.  The elevator is scheduled to be back in service in April 2026.

Impacts:  The passenger elevator will remain out of service until the modernization is complete.  There will be some noise and construction activity within the building when on-sire work begins..

Description: A new Chemistry lab will be constructed in Park 276 Suite.

Status: The project is in the bid process

Impact: None at this time.

Clynnoc Office Renovations

Description: Renovate space on the 1st floor to provide additional office space.

Status: The renovations are scheduled to begin September 2nd with completion scheduled for mid-October.

Impacts: There will be some noise and construction activity within the building.

Description: A new Computer Science research lab is being construction in rooms 259 with a Wellness Room in 260.

Status:  The construction is wrapping up and will be turned over to the College for the Fall Semester.

Impacts:  Minimal disruption as furniture is delivered and punch list items are addressed.

Description: Floor refinishing and mirror replacement.

Status: The work is scheduled to be completed for the Fall Semester. 

Impacts:  No impacts are expected.  

 

Description: We have constructed a scaffolding on the west side (the valley side) of Goodhart Hall to inspect and address masonry & roof issues at the Spire.

Status: The project is underway and is scheduled to be completed in September.

Impacts: Impacts will be minimal.

Description: Replace the current switch with a code compliant switch and repaceing the oldest underground cable on campus. This will improve reliability and will minimize the impact of future maintenance and construction by allowing for the isolation of segments of the loop.

Status: The equipment has been ordered.  Site work was completed over the summer.  Restoration of the site is underway.  Installation of the equipment is scheduled for Spring 2026. 

Impacts:  None at this time. 

 

Description:  Replacement of Water and Fire Service mains.  The front entry path to New Dorm will be repaired.

Status: The mains have been replaced.  Restoration work is underway.  The front entry work will take place between August 20- 26th.

Impacts:  The effected walkways will be marked and closed.  Building access will be retained via the front stairs of the building.

Description:  The College will be restoring the historic exterior door set facing Goodhart Hall leading onto the Rhys Carpenter roof.

Status:  The temporary door has been installed.  The historic doors are being restored off site.  The work will continue on and off over the month of August & September to prepare the opening for the arrival of the restored door in mid-September.

Impact:  There will be minimal if any impact.

Description: We continue the phased renovation of Park Science that now includes renovations to the Collier Library and select areas of the Biology Wing.

Status: The areas now under construction, including the Biology Wing and the Collier Library, are being turned over to the College.  The spaces will be available for the Fall Semester 2025.

 Impact: There will minimal disruption in Biology and Collier as furniture is delivered and punch list items are addressed.

 

Description: New finishes and shelving fit out to accommodate student club storage.

Status: Construction is complete.  Shelving is being installed.

Impacts: No impacts are expected

Description:  The stairs at the front entrances (Main & Gym) for the Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research will be rebuilt..

Status:  Construction is underway and will be completed by late September.

Impacts:  The front stairs will be closed.  Access from the parking lot side of the building will be unaffected.
