Spanish language proficiency is more than just a college course requirement.
Many of our advanced courses are cross-listed with departments and programs such as Comparative Literature, Italian, History of Art, Film Studies, and Gender and Sexuality. We work closely with the Spanish department at Haverford College as well as offer an interdisciplinary Bryn Mawr program of study in Latin American, Iberian and Latina/o Studies (LAILS). LAILS expands the examination of society and culture beyond literature in a program that is open to all students of cooperating departments.
Most courses are taught exclusively in Spanish.
Bryn Mawr Spanish program graduates are successful journalists, social workers, state and federal government employees, lawyers, doctors, bankers, and teachers, with an education that provides a foundation for any field of interest.
